Event Details

In this fun filled and inspirational workshop “Bristol Burlesque Legend” Keda Breeze teaches you everything you need to know to get up and running as a burlesque starlet.
This is a wonderful opportunity to train with a top burlesque artist in small group with a really friendly atmosphere, and achieve more than you ever dreamed possible in one day.
Who the
Day is For
This day
is perfect for those with absolutely no experience, and its fine if you have
never danced a step in your life. It is also suitable for those with dance or
performance experience. This day is great training for those who want to take
to the stage but also for those who just want to learn burlesque for their own
confidence and enjoyment.
The day
is also a great training tool for women who may already be starting out in
burlesque but want to improve their skills.
What we Cover
in the Day
Keda crams as much as possible into the day, so that
you can then go out on your own in burlesque. Areas covered include:
Posture: how to hold
yourself and walk like a showgirl,
Movements: such as sexy wiggles, pin up poses and elegant shapes and gestures –
this then builds up into a classic burlesque routine.
Striptease: how to make taking your clothes off into an art form.
Performance: Character, stage presence, working an audience, using your face
and body to be expressive
Creating an act: How to go about building a show, music, props, choreography
Costuming and styling: how to create beautiful burlesque costumes on a budget
Tassel twirling (this is done in small groups with Keda)
Creating your own burlesque performance: By the end of the day everyone will
know enough to create their own performances in small groups and perform them
if they choose to.
What You Will Get From Taking Part in the Day
As well as learning lots of wonderful burlesque skills you will improve
your coordination and lean to move in a beautiful and elegant way. You are also
likely to have a whole lot of fun and see a more confident, sassy and sexy you!

“I came to the workshop as someone fit and active but not feeling sexy. I left
feeling in touch with my sexy wild side. Thank you”
“Keda’s down to earth welcoming style of teaching burlesque filled me with a
confidence I didn’t think I’d reach in just a few hours. The day was fun, well
paced and full of learning. I left feeling really confident in my body”
“I found the experience really empowering and was shocked to see myself as sensual and beautiful. I feel so much more confident! Thank you Keda”
"I really enjoyed the day. It was exciting and glamorous and gave a good comprehensive introduction to all aspects of burlesque. I particularly enjoyed the work on choreographic strategies and performance techniques. I have been a professional dancer in the past and had a dance training, but havn't done a lot of serious dancing for a number of years due to having children.....There was a nice friendly atmosphere and it was great to do some serious dance work in a nice supportive group of ladies! Thanks Keda X"

Hoochie Coochie
Hoochie Coochie produces one night fantastical experiences, which are all about dressing up, having fun, and being entertained all in one magical evening. These take place in unique and stunning performance venues in Hoochie Coochie’s hometown of Bristol.
There is always a spectacular stage show which features high octane circus and bizarre cabaret acts. Through out the evening surreal and beautiful installations accompany our resident DJ’s to create a spectacular immersive party environment. Installations might include a pole dancing unicorn, mini bike dancers, gogo dancing sperm, the enchanting “squares” and a miniature fetish queen.
Hoochie Coochie is one of the countries most renowned and long running dress up/performance/party events. It is curated and art directed by international circus show woman turned arts producer Keda Breeze. Keda has been creating performance events in Bristol in 2004.
Tickets
People travel from across the Uk and sometimes even Europe to go to Hoochie Coochie and tickets are in high demand. Early booking is always recommended.
Dress Code
Dressing up isn’t compulsory at Hoochie Coochie, but if you don’t, you’ll probably really wish you did. One of the best things about Hoochie is its carnival atmosphere; with everyone in flamboyant costume the audience become as much part of the show as performers.
Hoochie Coochie tend to be promenade shows rather than seated cabarets. This means that whilst some seating is available they are not seated cabaret shows and there is an emphasis on music and dancing
